Single coat systems normally cannot provide superior performance because these products have only one layer comprising the entire system. With only a single layer responsible for both adhering to the cookware, and providing food release, it is not possible to optimize either attribute.

Single coat systems are custom formulated in either water-based (PTFE) or solvent-based (silicone) mediums, depending upon the base substrate, and the specific chemistry of the resin used. GMM chemists will determine which technology is optimal for the substrate.
