GMM offers a wide range of customized 3-coat systems for electric appliances.
Three-coat systems are the highest quality coating technology for small electric appliances, and provide a much higher level of performance than two coat systems. Three-coat systems are the best option for the highest end cookware, where there is a long-term (or lifetime) consumer warranty in place.
Three coat systems are comprised of a primer coat, which provides adhesion to the base substrate, a midcoat layer that provides durability, and a final topcoat layer that is exclusively for food release.
Please watch the short video (at left) that depicts how three-coat systems are sprayed onto metal substrates, flashed off, and then cured in a production oven.
Internal Reinforcing Technology
For the last 10 years, a key way that the durability of 3-coat systems is enhanced is by utilizing “internally reinforcing” technology. An internal reinforcement is a very small, very hard particle that (based on the specific formula) is added to one, two, or three layers of the coating. These tiny reinforcements (titanium, tungsten, aluminum oxide, diamond) can help absorb the impact of metal utensils during cooking to a limited degree.
The only technology which surpasses a reinforced 3-coat system quality-wise is GMM Duramax, which uses nanotechnology and is the highest quality nonstick coating in the market. Click here for information on Duramax.
